Qué te espera

Pasee por las plazas de los pueblos y las bonitas iglesias coloniales, investigue las cuevas marinas y conozca los productos típicos. Entre parada y parada, visitará elevados miradores para admirar el inusual paisaje de Fuerteventura. Puede parecer árido, pero Marta, una de nuestras guías expertas, afirma: "En Fuerteventura hay 44 especies de aves diferentes, a pesar de la falta de árboles. Sólo cuatro menos que en la boscosa isla de Madeira".

Empezará el día conociendo uno de los productos más conocidos de la isla en una granja de aloe vera. Descubra cómo se ha convertido en un excelente todoterreno en el mundo del bienestar. Después nos dirigiremos a Pájara para visitar la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Regla y admirar su fachada de aspecto azteca. Marta añade: "Pájara fue elegido en su día el sexto pueblo más bonito de España. Rezuma encanto". Conduzca hasta el pequeño pueblo pesquero de Ajuy, en la costa oeste, donde podrá explorar su playa de arena negra y sus cuevas marinas en acantilados de creta. A continuación, siga hasta Betancuaria, con una parada fotográfica en el camino para contemplar las montañas resecas y el océano en el mirador de Las Peñitas.

Retroceda en el tiempo en Betancuria y visite la iglesia de Santa María, la más antigua de Canarias, consagrada en 1424, o visite el museo arqueológico y sus interesantes exposiciones. A continuación, nos dirigiremos a un restaurante familiar del Valle de Santa Inés para degustar un almuerzo elaborado con productos de la tierra. Y para terminar el día, visitaremos una granja de cabras y probaremos quesos locales, así como mermeladas y licor de miel y ron, uno de los productos favoritos de Fuerteventura.

Fuerteventura Villages Tour

Fuerteventura is that rare gem – there's plenty to do and see but in laid-back and uncrowded surrounds. This daytrip to the centre of the island will explore the historic town of Betancuria and the fishing village of Ajuy and take in attractions such as an aloe vera plantation and a farm.Setting off in a comfortable minibus, your first stop is the aloe vera plantation. Next up is the polka-dotted Moorish-influenced lighthouse overlooking Las Playitas beach. Then, in Ajuy, you can check out the view from the chalk cliffs overlooking the black beach and the fishing boats.Later, a scenic drive through the mountains will take you to the whitewashed colonial town of Betancuria. See St Mary's church, whose simple exterior belies its richly decorated interior. There'll be a cheese-tasting session at a nearby goat farm, before you round off the day with a visit to the cheese museum in Antigua.
