This Archaeological Park is located on a plateau not far from the sea and is listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is governed by an excellent state of preservation and by some very important Doric temples of the Hellenic period. It corresponds to the ancient Akragas, the original monumental nucleus of the city of Agrigento.
Inside the Valley there are twelve temples as well as some fortifications, the Lower and Upper Agora, an Olympeion and a Vouleuterion. Source of inspiration for poets, philosophers and painters, it is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic parks in Sicily. The tour will start from the temple of Hera, continuing on the sacred way to the remains of the surrounding wall. You will continue with the visit of the Temple of Concord, the remains of the early Christian necropolis, the Temple of Heracles and the remains of the Temple of Zeus.
