The Dalmatian coast's biggest city, Split is both easy and enjoyable to get lost in. But if you want to tick off all the top sights first, this trip is just the ticket. You'll stop by Bačvice beach, take a tuk-tuk tour of the old town to see the Game-of-Thrones-famous Diocletian's Palace, then visit some standout spots overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
We start with a photo stop at Bačvice beach where spotlessly clean sand lapped by shallow waters won it a coveted Blue Flag award. Next is a tuk-tuk tour of the old quarter. These nippy, eco-friendly electric vehicles will take you on a guided drive by Split's National Theatre and the Roman-era Diocletian's Palace – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Finally, we'll fire up the camera for a visit to Kasjuni beach – a pebble-dashed bay looking out across the Adriatic – followed by St Stephen's Park, with its pretty church and manicured gardens backed by views of the marina.
