The inside story
The Queen’s Foot Guards, with their red tunics and unmistakable bearskin hats, march together with the military band and the Household Cavalry, complete with plumed silver helmets and magnificent horses. You can catch all the action right outside Buckingham Palace or at the Horse Guards Parade. The immaculately dressed soldiers’ parade outside the palace, and swap places from one guard to another, in order to keep watch over Queen Elizabeth.
Experience history as you watch a ceremony which has been happening since the 1600s. No tickets are needed to see this energetic event, but you can look for tours with prime spots to catch all of the excitement.
