You will start the day with a scenic drive through the route du Champagne. Picturesque villages, spectacular vineyards, your tour guide will share his knowledge and explain the concept of “French terroir”: the grape varieties, the importance of the soil, the pruning, the climate, the sun exposition, etc.
You will then arrive in Epernay, known as "Champagne's Capital". You will discover Epernay’s Avenue de Champagne where you could find the most prestigious Maisons de Champagne, for example, Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier, and much more.
You will then start your guided tour and tasting at Moët & Chandon. The House was founded in 1743 by Claude Möet. Discover everything about the Champagne making: the grape varieties, the blending, the double fermentation. You will be amazed at the length of the limestone galleries, an ideal place to age the champagne. After the visit, you will arrive in a small boutique winery and taste the two glasses of Champagne.
The lunch will be at leisure. Your guide will recommend restaurants.
Afterward, you will stop in the quaint village of Hautvillers for a tour of the abbey where lies the tomb of Dom Perignon, a monk who contributed to the process of the champagne making.
