What to expect

Start by downloading the Action Tour Guide app, which will function as your personal tour guide, audio tour, and map all in one. You can choose between two options:

  • Option 1: Grand Palace Bangkok self-guided audio tour with Emerald Buddha
  • Option 2: Bangkok's top 4: Grand Palace and Wats audio tour bundle

Your tour begins at the Grand Palace gates, in the heart of bustling Bangkok. One of the first things you'll see on your route is the famous Emerald Buddha. This incredible statue is perhaps the most well known of the Palace's many wonders, and for good reason. There's plenty of history (and mystery) behind this statue, all of which you'll soon uncover!

Next, you'll see other intricate statues, including one depicting a terrifying demon that holds an important place in Thai legends. Then you'll follow a route through the rest of the Palace, taking in sights such as the shimmering Golden Chedi and the deeply sacred Hor Phra Monthian temple. While you explore, you'll be learning all about the history, culture, and mythology behind the plentiful works of art that decorate the palace. At last, you'll see the extravagant Borom Phiman Mansion before continuing to a pair of fascinating museums.

This audio tour does not use GPS, so the stories won't play automatically according to your location. Please note that the entrance ticket for the tour is not included and must be purchased separately. The stories are organized in a suggested order to take the tour - please swipe through each story to listen as you travel along the route. You can also play all stories from the 'Story List' if you wish to skip ahead or listen to earlier stories again.

    Bangkok Canals and Flower Market

Thailand's markets come in all shapes and sizes – and this full-day tour dives right into the action. First up is Ladplee, Thailand's first floating market, and the oldest one around. It's for the history and the hypes, and trust us, it delivers. Picture colourful canoes drifting by, piled high with fresh fruit, snacks, and local goodies – perfect for snapping those Insta-worthy shots. Next, you'll cruise through Bangkok's canals to the lively Damnoen Floating Market, where the energy is just as electric. Then, it's off to Wat Bang Kung, an ancient temple that looks like it's been plucked straight from a movie set, completely enveloped by jungle vines. After a tasty seafood lunch, you'll have time to wave at the cheeky monkeys when you stop by the Mangrove Conservation Centre. And, for the grand finale, we'll hit the Maeklong Railway Market—where stalls are literally set up on the train tracks. Sounds wild, right? Just wait until you see them clear out in the nick of time as the train rolls through, then everything goes right back to business. This is one Thai adventure you won't want to miss.
