Nestled on an islet amidst the placid waters of Lake Snagov, this 15th-century chapel is a sanctuary shrouded in mystery and eye-catching nature. A bastion for Romanian history and heritage, the monastery’s time-honoured walls are adorned with intricate frescoes and paintings depicting Christian traditions. The mystical atmosphere is palpable. It’s even believed to be the final resting place of Dracula – the enigmatic Vlad the Impaler, rumoured to be entombed here.
