Gibraltar is a small slice of Britain on the sunny shores of Costa de la Luz – and this day trip allows you to choose exactly how you want to spend your time there. With great duty-free bargains, it is a shopper's paradise and you'll have plenty of time to bag a bargain.

Pedestrianised Main Street is a great place to pick up everything from clothes to crystals. It has all the British high street chains as well as international brand boutiques. You'll find that electronic goods, spirits and tobacco are much cheaper in Gibraltar, too. The Casemates Square market is a good spot for finding unusual souvenirs.

And when you're shopped out, there's plenty to do and see. From historic churches to the old city walls and the Barbary Apes and World War II tunnels of the Rock, there's loads to discover.

Ronda festival full-day tour in Andalusia

During the annual celebrations of Feria de Pedro Romero, the Andalusian town of Ronda comes alive. Spend the day soaking up the lively atmosphere as you take it all in at your own pace.You'll begin with a comfortable coach ride through the Andalusian countryside and wind your way up high into the mountains where the town is perched. Sites & Bites: Sherry wine and chicharrones in Jerez

Winding alleyways, centuries-old architecture and world-famous wine – Jerez de la Frontera has it all. And this half-day guided tour is the ideal way to get a real flavour for the city. You'll kick things off with a relaxed troll through the city centre, where the city's blend of Christian and Moorish heritage is showcased in its architecture.First up is the Alcazar of Jerez, an 11th-century fortress built during the Islamic period. You'll get a good look at this place's exterior, with its impressive towers and gardens. Just around the corner is the Cathedral of Jerez, featuring a mix of Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles.From there, you'll head to Plaza del Arenal, where locals like to gather for coffee and a chat, as well as the occasional Flamenco performance. Then, it's on to the Central Market, piled high with fresh product, seafood and spices – perfect for getting a feel for everyday life in Jerez.Next, it's time to dive into the world of tabancos – old-school wine taverns that embody the spirit of old Jerez.
