Visit one of the most beautiful destinations in Germany, the Middle Rhine Valley. This very spectacular section of the river from Rüdesheim to St. Goarshausen is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you'll see a good part of it.
The tour departure and return place is Frankfurt. You'll leave by bus or van, and you'll be accompanied by an English-speaking tour guide throughout the day. Only an hour away from the hectic of urban living, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama: the winding loops of the lower mountain ranges, the small, traditional villages, the steep terraces of the vineyards, and many medieval castles on both sides of the banks.
Take a lovely and relaxing ride on one of the steamers' boats on the river. It is just one of the highlights during this excursion. Then, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, with rich decoration and a good choice of light or hearty dishes. A little wine tasting in a cosy tavern next to the restaurant is also included in your tour. Learn about the history of wine growing in this particular region.
In summer, you'll be able to join an “open-air” cable car ride from the top of the hills into the valley. The ride is not included in the tour price and can be booked on the spot for a small fee. During the low season or in case of high or low waters or other unforeseen circumstances, the boats may not operate. In this case, you'll visit a castle.
