Get ready to explore the wonderful surroundings of Maspalomas by renting a mountain bike. Choose your route and embark on an adventure in one of the best areas of Gran Canaria.

Thanks to the help of the map and the information briefing you'll receive, you'll be able to customize your experience and see what you prefer and discover the southern coast of Gran Canaria in a fun and exciting way. You'll have the chance to rent a mountain bike from minimum 9 hours until a maximum of 7 days to ultimately immerse yourself in Maspalomas .

You can choose to rent a Mountain Bike according to your age and height, available in the order box:

  • Infant seat; suitable for infants: 1-6 years old / maximum weight 22 kg
  • Child Mountain Bike - wheels 16" / 18" / 20": with pedals / without gears / without front suspensions; suitable for children: 5–8 years old / height 105 cm - 135 cm
  • Youth Mountain Bike - small wheels 24"/ 26 ": with 18 gears / with front suspensions; suitable for young people: 9–17 years old / height 135 cm - 160 cm
  • Adult Mountain Bike - big wheels 29 ": with 18 gears / with front suspensions and hydraulic disk brakes; suitable for people: 18–70 years old / height 160 cm - 190 cm

Accessibility:

  • This activity is not recommended for pregnant travellers and for people with heart conditions

Extra fees to be paid on site:

  • A security deposit of 50€ in cash or by card is required for each child mountain or youth mountain bike rented (refundable)
  • A security deposit of 100 € in cash or by card is required for each adult mountain bike rented (refundable)
  • Helmets for people over 16 years old can be rented in the rental shop for additional 5€. Free helmet are only available for children under 16 years old

Know in advance:

  • Minimum age to ride a bike: 5 years old (children must be accompanied by an adult). Minors can rent a Mountain bike only if they are accompanied by their parents
  • Infant seats available for infants (age 1-6). Please refer to the calendar
  • Please note that assistance on the road in case of puncture or vehicle breakdown is available only in Maspalomas
  • It is possible to use the mountain bikes on asphalt road, promenade, bicycle paths
  • Mountain Bikes are not suitable to go off-roads or on sand

David, one of our local guides, says, ‘The legend of the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Teror still intrigues me. It was in 1481, amid the Castilian conquest of Gran Canaria, and it helped change the island's destiny.'And Teror is where your adventure begins. Strolling past the balconied townhouses of Calle Real de la Plaza towards the mountain-framed basilica of Our Lady of the Pine is one of the defining Gran Canaria experiences. A scenic mountain drive away is Tejeda, which is a bit of a looker itself – red-roofed, whitewashed houses sprinkled on the slope of a valley. David adds, ‘Every time there's a list of Spain's prettiest villages, Tejeda is near the top. Its setting is unbeatable.' There's also a pit stop at Las Tirajanas viewpoint to admire a vast volcanic caldera, as we make our way to Fataga to eat. A lunch made from locally sourced ingredients will be served in a family-owned restaurant. After a little amble through the town, we'll visit a nearby aloe vera plantation to get the lowdown on its medicinal properties. Generations of islanders have used extracts from the plant for skin burns.
