The inside story
The Mudec Museum of Cultures was begun in 1990 with the purchase of the old Ansaldo industrial plant at Porta Genova and the conversion of disused factories into studios, workshops and new creative spaces.
Mudec is an ethnographical museum spread over an area of 17,000 square meters and laid out around a large, covered central plaza on the first floor. As well as the museum collections, there is a theater with three hundred seats for performances and the visual arts.
