Your private guide will meet you at your hotel or selected location at 8:30 AM to begin your day. The first stop is Nakhal, a charming old town surrounded by palm groves and mountains. Here, you'll visit the 17th-century Nakhal Fort, uniquely built around a rocky cliff, offering stunning views from its battlements. The fort's strategic location, with a rocky mountain behind and a rich water source at its base, nourishes the lush date plantations around it.
From Nakhal, the road leads to the nearby Ayn Al Thowwarah hot springs, a favorite local spot for relaxing and picnicking.
Your journey continues toward the remote mountain village of Wakan, nestled in Wadi Mistal. The scenic drive, including a short, gentle off-road trail, climbs up to above 1500 meters above sea level. Wakan is known for its terraced farms growing pomegranates, figs, grapes, and especially peach trees, whose pink blossoms light up the village in April.
A scenic staircase winds through the crops, offering beautiful panoramic viewpoints and the calming sound of flowing water from traditional falaj canals. After exploring, you'll return to Muscat in the afternoon.
