Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a museum of modern and contemporary art located in the heart of Saadiyat Cultural District. You'll explore a collection that celebrates artistic voices from West Asia, North Africa and South Asia, alongside their global connections, spanning from the 1960s to the present day.
The museum's growing collection has been carefully developed over nearly two decades and continues to expand. It features works from over 550 multigenerational artists representing 86 countries across all artistic media – including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, film and new media. The collection takes a transcultural approach, moving beyond traditional chronology and geography to highlight artistic lineages, networks and exchanges.
Designed by the late Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry, the building itself is a work of art. Located at the meeting point of land and sea, the museum's distinctive architecture spans 80,000 square metres and rises to 88 metres in height. The structure includes nine galleries in stainless steel and one in onyx and glass, each purpose-built to guide you through multiple journeys of exploration.
