You'll spend a day in the heart of the Champagne region, just two hours from Paris. You'll depart from Place de la Nation, travel east to Reims and meet your guide in front of the cathedral.
You'll discover Notre-Dame de Reims, the Gothic masterpiece where the kings of France were crowned for over 1,000 years, from Clovis's baptism site to Charles VII's coronation alongside Joan of Arc. You'll continue through the historic centre, exploring Place Royale, Place du Forum and the art deco façades of the rebuilt post-WWI city.
You'll have free time for lunch in the city centre. Your guide can recommend local brasseries where you can enjoy a meal at your own expense. You'll then descend into the spectacular Gallo-Roman chalk pits at Champagne Pommery, 30 metres underground, where millions of bottles age in 18 kilometres of galleries. The guided cellar tour ends with a champagne tasting before you return to Paris in the late afternoon.
