This full-day guided tour from Valencia visits two contrasting destinations in the region: the inland medieval town of Morella and the coastal town of Peñíscola. Transport, an expert guide and a meal are included, making it an easy way to see both destinations in one day.
After meeting at the designated pick-up point, you’ll travel north by coach for around two hours to reach Morella. On arrival, a local guide leads a walking tour through the historic centre, following cobbled streets up to the hilltop castle. You’ll visit the stunning Morella Castle, a 12th-century fortress, and see the cloister and the town’s main church.
After the guided visit, you’ll have free time to explore the town at your own pace. A typical local meal is included, giving you the chance to sample regional dishes or browse the town's small shops and craft stalls.
In the afternoon, the tour continues east to the coast and the picturesque town of Peñíscola. Here, you’ll visit Papa Luna Castle, located on a rocky headland by the sea, and explore the old town on a guided walk. Along the route, you’ll see landmarks such as the Shell House, the Bufador and sections of the historic city walls.
At the end of the visit, you’ll return to Valencia by coach.
