Valencia's most renowned wine areas lie inland, in the Utiel and Requena region, where vineyards stretch across gentle hills less than an hour from the city.
Your first stop is in Requena, at the Murviedro winery, in the heart of the old town. During a guided visit, you'll descend into its 12th-century underground caves, once used to store wine and food thanks to their stable natural conditions. The visit includes a wine tasting in the caves, followed by two additional tastings in the main room.
The experience continues in Utiel, at the Vera de Estenas winery, a family-run estate founded in 1876. Set among vineyards in a rural setting, the visit includes a guided walk around the winery grounds. You'll then enjoy a tasting of three Valencian wines, paired with a light appetiser, served in the garden when the weather permits.
This excursion allows you to discover the landscapes, traditions and flavours that define Valencian winemaking, whether you're already interested in wine or simply curious to learn more.
